PURPOSE
The Technical Sales Engineer will provide dedicated focus on Exponential Power products and services for current, new and potential customers. By supporting existing client needs and developing new business opportunities, the Technical Sales Engineer will provide technical and sales supportive relationships in an effort to maintain and build relationships with target customers, all while driving revenue
MANAGEMENT OF SALES/INSTALLATION SERVICE

Leading all sales functions within the defined region. Includes the following:

Growth of existing accounts
- Identification of new accounts
- Working with other Sales Representatives
-
Working as a team with Application Engineers
-
Supporting and Communicating with Customer Service
- Leading/directing/managing the sales efforts for given territory
-
Teaching and Training to Company Sales and Marketing Plan when necessary to new Sales Representatives

Provide guidance to all sales and service areas of where the company is heading and how it is to get there
PROFIT AND LOSS STATEMENT RESPONSIBILITY

Responsible for the profit/loss for the region assigned

Responsible for expenses
-
Responsible for Revenues and Gross Margin
FORECASTING/ REPORTING
-
Gather and interpret data to forecast future orders and shipments on a three-month rolling forecast model as well as weekly reporting. Provide sales contact reports on all customer and sales contacts or prospects

Yearly budget development
TECHNICAL / SALES SUPPORT
-
Provide technical support to customers to ensure customer satisfaction and increase repeat sales

Provide Sales Information to team members and management team
COST
- Estimate and track costs for sales/service in order to ensure that the business with any particular customer achieves target margins.
TEAM PARTICIPATION
-
Weekly participation with Sales and Service Team
-
Monthly participation with Sales team and VP of Sales
MARKETING PARTICIPATION
-
Scheduling and participating in the marketing functions of Exponential; including the scheduling and selling of Training seminars, attendance and management of exhibitions, and participation in outside events that promote Exponential Power.
ADMINISTRATION
-
Provide all reporting for timesheets, expenses, mileage and other reporting

Complete all necessary documentation and tracking of sales driven agendas
EDUCATION
College Degree from accredited institution, preferred Electrical Engineering or other technical degree. We will also consider 5+ years in technical industrial/utility sales.
EXPERIENCE
-
3+ years in outside sales in Battery, Charger and UPS systems, and supporting services is preferred or industrial utility sales of other products and service into these markets

Participation in CRM, reporting, forecasting, budgeting

Knowledge of types of customers, engineering firms, end-users, etc.

Understanding the sales cycles for above products and services

Selling on value not price
SPECIFIC KNOWLEDGE
Computer Skills, software skills: Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and presentation skills. Product knowledge, industry standards (UL, CSA, ISO), CRM software
