Major Job Responsibilities and Duties:
- Directs and oversees the plant operations and ensures timely production and shipment of products.
- Works closely with Quality Assurance Manager to ensure wholesomeness of product and adherence to USDA guidelines.
- Participates in plant-wide meetings to disseminate information to employees.
- Confers with USDA meat inspectors to ensure the quality and sanitation of Company products and production procedures.
- Makes recommendations for manpower requirements for plant operations and forwards to company President for review and modification.
- Assists in employee matters such as proper staffing among departments, supervises and trains department supervisors and guides disciplinary actions. Responsible for effective techniques to maximize productivity and efficiency in a hands-on environment.
- Oversees decisions made by subordinate supervisors in the plant and approves supervisory actions concerning personnel matters and departmental operations.
- Provides the focus for continuous quality improvements. Assists the department supervisors, as well as other process improvement teams as necessary for the purpose of improving profits and customer satisfaction.
- Works across all departments to ensure harmonious operations.
- Oversees employee safety in the plant in conjunction with company’s Safety Director.
- Meets expectations for attendance and punctuality.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- 4-year college degree or equivalent in Business, Agriculture or a related area preferred.
- At least 5 years related Production experience with preference in a ready-to-eat environment preferred.
- Thorough knowledge of Plant operations in purchasing, quality and inventory control.
- Knowledge of yield testing methods and techniques.
- Skill in organizing and planning work for the department and setting production schedules.
- Proficient PC Skills
- Ability to communicate, orally and in writing with all levels of management.
- Ability to effectively supervise staff with a focus on servant leadership.
- Knowledge of BRC or SQF requirements for food manufacturing highly desired
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $100,000.00 - $150,000.00 per year
