Position: Project Engineer / Jr. Project Manager
Discipline: Civil / Underground Utilities Background
Location: South Jersey

Summary of Position:
Opportunity for an project engineer / Jr. project manager with civil / utilities experience to grow within our team. A site civil & utilities focused individual who is ready to take their career to the next level and grow with an organization that treats their employees like family.
Typical Responsibilities / Essential Functions
Work with sr. estimators & project managers in reviewing project detail tasks, gathering data, analyze and coordinate to ensure contract compliance and best fit/value
Analyze drawings and specifications as well as understand contractual terms and conditions to compile accurate cost data for construction estimates
Attend pre-bid meetings, interact with customers, and visit jobsites to obtain data for specialized scopes of work for review with sr. management
Work with sr. estimators in performing takeoffs & assisting in organizing estimates in an accurate but timely matter for unit priced, lump sum, and negotiated project opportunities
Work with vendors and subcontractors to secure quotations; analyze and coordinate to ensure contract compliance and best fit/value
Work with senior management & field personnel as needed per job scopes and assist in gathering information & data from jobsites. Communicating with project team and supporting jobsite as instructed.
Breakdown estimate & develop detailed budgets for acquired projects
Ability to Compare budgets vs. actual costs, analyze data and utilize for future estimates
Provides ongoing project information and project reviews to team / client
Ensures scope of work, schedule, and budget are clearly defined and understood by all project participants, including client.
Tracks schedule and budget progress with project milestones and takes all action necessary to keep project on track.
Identifies and secures necessary approvals for all changes in project scope, budget and/or schedule.
Maintains ongoing communication with client and project team
Requirements:
Degree in Engineering, Construction Management or equivalent experience in a construction-related position will be considered.
5+yrs of heavy civil / utilities construction experience.
Experience with piling/ bulkhead / marine construction a plus, but not required
Familiar with HCSS, MS Project and or related estimating software
Strong organizational and time management skills.
Safety oriented, 10-hour and 30-hour OSHA certificates are preferred.
Strong work ethic - Willing to do what it takes to get the job done.
Self-Motivated
Ability to function as a team-builder/player.
