S2Technologies, LLC (S2) is looking for an experienced Accounts Payable Assistant to join our growing team, managing AP functions across our companies. The AP Assistant performs accounting and clerical tasks related to accounts payable transactions. With headquarters in Smithfield, North Carolina and personnel located across more than ten states S2 provides specialized support services to Defense and Federal civilian customers in the areas of Cyber, Software Development, DevSecOps, Data Management, Network Engineering and Intelligence.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Receiving and processing invoices
Receiving and coordinating invoices for approval in accordance with company policy
Logging invoices into the accounts payable system, checking and verifying them, and resolving discrepancies
Maintaining records
Updating the accounts payable ledger, filing and maintaining supplier records, and ensuring compliance with corporate standards
Reconciling accounts
Assisting with the reconciliation of accounts, and reconciling expense and other financial reports with account balances
Paying and receiving payments
Processing payments, preparing checks, and paying or receiving payment from vendors and customers
Generating reports
Creating financial statements and reports, and assisting with corporate audit and other financial reporting requirements
Monitoring and analyzing
Monitoring vendor agreements, and company spend to identify areas for improvement and cost savings
Updating vendor obligated values in accounting system and generating commitment reports.
Other tasks
Performing ad hoc tasks as required by their supervisor, such as verifying federal ID numbers, issuing stop-payments, or amending purchase orders
QUALIFICATIONS:
- 5-7 years' relevant experience and two years' experience performing AP/AR activities.

Ability to adhere to Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
- Proficiency using PROCAS software, or other job-cost accounting software, preferred.

Ability to interpret financial data and prepare reports for Executive leadership, program managers and Project Control.
- Excellent written and oral communication a must.
