Position Title: Pastry Cook
Reports to: Kitchen Manager, General Manager
Supervised by: Lead Pastry Cook
Job Summary
The Pastry Cook is responsible for preparing a variety of sweet baked goods and delivering exceptional customer experiences. This role requires creativity, precision, and a passion for pastry arts. The Pastry Cook will work closely with the lead pastry cook and other team members to produce high-quality pastries and desserts. As a key representative of Roux & Lucia, the Pastry Cook will also assist customers, complete transactions at the point of sale, and package orders.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and bake a variety of pastries, including croissants, puff pastry, muffins, scones, bars, and tarts.
- Follow recipes and ensure consistency in quality and presentation.
- Assist in the development of new recipes and menu items.
- Assist customers, provide excellent service, and act as a brand ambassador for Roux & Lucia.
- Complete transactions at the point of sale and package orders.
- Collaborate with team members and other departments as needed.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area.
- Adhere to all health and safety regulations.
Qualifications
- Previous experience as a pastry cook or similar role.
- Knowledge of pastry techniques and baking processes.
- Excellent customer service and communication skills.
- Ability to work early mornings, nights, weekends, and holidays as needed.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Creativity and a passion for pastry arts.
