Job Title: Driver: Non-Emergency Medical Transportation
Job Overview:
We are seeking a compassionate and reliable Non-Emergency Medical Transportation Driver to join our team. This role involves transporting patients who do not require emergency medical attention but need assistance getting to and from medical facilities such as hospitals, clinics, and outpatient centers. The ideal candidate will ensure safe transport of patients with diverse health conditions, providing them with supportive and timely service.
Responsibilities:
- Safely transport patients to and from medical appointments, dialysis, rehabilitation centers, and other healthcare-related locations.
- Assist patients with boarding and exiting the vehicle, ensuring proper handling of mobility aids like wheelchairs, walkers, and stretchers.
- Maintain strict adherence to scheduled routes and timing, adjusting as necessary to meet the needs of patients.
- Comply with all traffic regulations and maintain a safe driving record.
- Keep the transportation vehicle clean, sanitized, and well-maintained, reporting any mechanical or safety issues promptly.
- Complete required documentation, including travel logs, vehicle maintenance records, and incident reports.
- Provide friendly interaction and support to patients, offering assistance and answering questions as needed.
- Respect patient confidentiality and adhere to all HIPAA regulations regarding patient information.
Qualifications:
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
- Experience in a driving position, preferably in medical or patient transportation.
- Ability to operate a variety of vehicles and assistive devices for patient mobility.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Must pass a background check and drug screening.
- Knowledge of first aid and CPR is a plus.
