- Cleaning Duties: Washing dishes, glassware, flatware, pots, pans, and cooking utensils by hand or using dishwashing equipment such as industrial dishwashers.
- Organizing and Storing: Sorting and stacking clean dishes and utensils appropriately, ensuring they are stored in designated areas and ready for use by kitchen staff and servers.
- Maintaining Equipment: Cleaning and maintaining dishwashing equipment and ensuring it is in good working condition. Reporting any issues or malfunctions to management for repair or replacement.
- Assisting with Kitchen Tasks: Supporting kitchen staff by performing tasks such as peeling vegetables, preparing ingredients, and assisting with basic food preparation as needed.
- Cleaning Duties: Sweeping and mopping kitchen floors, emptying trash cans, and maintaining cleanliness and sanitation standards in the dishwashing area and kitchen.
- Adhering to Safety Standards: Following health and safety regulations, including proper handling of cleaning chemicals and ensuring the safe operation of kitchen equipment.
- Teamwork: Working collaboratively with other kitchen staff, including chefs, cooks, and servers, to ensure efficient operations and timely delivery of clean dishes and utensils.
- Flexibility: Being willing to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, to accommodate the needs of the restaurant and its busy periods.
- Physical Requirements: Dishwashers must be able to stand for long periods, lift heavy objects, and perform repetitive tasks. They should also have good hand-eye coordination and attention to detail.
- Maintaining a Clean and Safe Environment: Contributing to a clean and safe work environment by following proper sanitation procedures, wearing appropriate protective gear such as gloves and aprons, and promptly cleaning up spills or messes.
