n experienced mechanic who is looking for steady work with a great company? Terradyne Engineering has a position for you. As a candidate, you must possess the knowledge to work on gas and diesel engines as well as heavy machinery along with the knowledge to perform simple preventive maintenance responsibilities.
We are looking for a Mechanic who:
* Installs, removes, rebuilds, repairs, and services power-driven machines and equipment, including but not limited to, light duty pickups, tractor engines, geotechnical or water well drill machines that are diesel and gasoline operated. Must be familiar with hydraulic operated machinery.
* Coordinates all required maintenance on the fleet and communicates with branches and shops on required repairs or maintenance.
* Has fleet experience.
* Keeps accurate and up to date maintenance and repair records and communicates it weekly with upper management.
* Has the ability to advise and trouble shoot over the phone as well as in person.
* Keeps shop equipment maintained and supplies and inventory accounted for and stocked.
* Is willing to travel to different branch locations when inspection or repair is needed of fleet machinery.
*Duties and Responsibilities*
* Receives written or oral instructions from the Fleet Manager regarding equipment to be serviced.
* Rebuilds and repairs systems, motors, and engines.
* Welds as needed.
* Inspects, cleans, maintains, and lubricates equipment. Complete preventative maintenance for equipment and inspect equipment to detect excessive wear.
* Participate and complete training in operation of new equipment.
* Possess essential mechanic tools required to perform job functions, diagnostic and specialty tools will be provided.
* General and preventative maintenance; including diagnostic testing, routine maintenance and determine a course of action for damaged parts and systems.
* Resolve issues from inspections or scheduled repairs to include but not limited to: changing brakes, oil, adjusting steering systems, replace worn-out parts and change or rebuild hydraulic components.
* Responsible for parts inventory and equipment provided to complete the duties outlined for position.
* Maintain accurate records of each repair performed on assets.
* May perform other general duties as needed.
Requirements:
* 2 years of experience as a mechanic or technician.
* Trade School in Diesel Tech, Apprentice Program or military experience preferred. Certified diesel mechanic with heavy machinery experience is desired.
* Ability to lift 75 lbs.
* Clean MVR; must hold a valid driver license, travel will be required.
* Must be self-motivated and able to work at project sites in outdoor weather conditions.
* Ability to work as a team player and interact with managers, and coworkers in a professional and courteous manner.
* Ability to multitask and prioritize effectively.
* Mechanical aptitude; robust problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
* Strong knowledge of hydraulic and electrical systems.
* Ability to read schematics.
* Hiring is contingent on passing a complete background check and drug screening.
* Computer skills utilizing Microsoft Office and other programs a must.
