Procurement Specialist
Location: Griffin, GA, 30224
Emerald Transportation Solutions is looking for an experienced Procurement Coordinator to join our team. This role will be responsible for the coordination and administration of all activities related to the procurement of goods and services. This includes, but is not limited to, developing and maintaining supplies, acting as a liaison between various departments and external suppliers to ensure the smooth acquisition of goods and services needed for operations. This position requires a keen eye for detail and strong negotiation skills to secure high-quality materials at the best possible prices.
Responsibilities:
- Negotiate contracts with suppliers to obtain the best prices and terms for products and services.
- Manage and process purchase orders from requisition to delivery, ensuring accurate and timely delivery of goods.
- Coordinate with internal departments to assess procurement needs and specifications.
- Develop and maintain relationships with suppliers to ensure a reliable and quality supply chain.
- Implement and oversee inventory control procedures to optimize stock levels and minimize excess or obsolete inventory.
- Analyze market trends and supplier performance to identify opportunities for cost savings and process improvements.
- Resolve issues related to shipment errors, quality discrepancies, and invoice mismatches.
- Conduct sustainability assessments of procurement practices to ensure alignment with environmental and social governance goals.
Preferred Experience:
Rich background in supply chain management, with a significant portion of having extensive experience in the field. Automotive Manufacturing or Manufacturing background. The expertise should span in various stages of procurement, including vendor negotiation, contract management, and inventory control. Ocean Freight logistics is required.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in business, supply chain management, or a related field
- 3+ years of experience in procurement or supply chain management
- Strong negotiation skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and procurement software
- Knowledge of ERP systems preferred
