General Purpose:The Cook is responsible for following: cook directions, verifying ingredients for the product, and filling out information on Redzone. They are also responsible for and assigning job duties to Cook Techs, working with the schedule to make sure product is ready to package when it should be and to ensure the HACCP guidelines, GMP’s, and SSOP’s are followed.
Education & Experience:Requires a High School Diploma or equivalent.
Specific Skills Required:The individual must have the ability to perform basic reading and math computations needed for following the cook directions. They must also have a full understanding of the company’s HACCP Plan, GMP’s, and SSOP’s. Must be able to work well with others as a team member.
Preferred Skills:Prefer a minimum of 1 to 2 years experience in a food manufacturing facility.
Essential Functions:These essential functions are primary job duties that this individual must be able to perform.
- Frequently lift up to 50 pounds
- Verify product ingredients before adding to the kettle
- Follow the cook directions thoroughly
- Assembly of the Kettles, Pumps, and Piping
- Document all necessary records
- Work safely while lifting and operating equipment
- Perform duties while understanding and observing company policies on food safety, product quality and Good Manufacturing Practices
- Maintain the cleanliness of the Room
- Other job duties as assigned
Working Conditions/Environmental/Physical Demands:Ability to work in a production environment that can be slippery and wet with temperature varying from cold to hot. Must be able to lift 50 pounds. Overtime hours may be required during periods of high workload.
