The Cecil J. Picard Center for Child Development & Lifelong Learning at the University of Louisiana at Lafayette has an opening for a part-time CLASS-Act observer across the state of Louisiana with specific areas of need in St. Tammany, Tangipahoa, and Washington Parishes (including City of Bogalusa). Applicants must have a minimum of a Bachelor's degree in early childhood education (birth to prekindergarten ages), or a Bachelor's degree in an unrelated area AND a minimum of two years experience working with young children in birth-to-five settings. Individuals should have observation experience and applicants must be willing travel with reliable transportation, computer access with proficient or general computer literacy, and excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Responsibilities include: participation in all required trainings, calibration, and on-going observer professional development.
Conducting Observations: 2-hour observation, submission of required documentation including detailed notes and summary statements adhering to Picard Center criteria.
CLASS Trained observer (preferred) : infant, toddler, and/or PreK-3rd.
