Caregivers and their infants or young children go through momentous changes in early development. Some babies, toddlers, and young children don’t sleep well, others appear anxious or restless, others appear well adjusted, and others cling to their caregiver. The relationship between the child and caregiver is forming. The Infant and Early Childhood Therapist observe and pick up on the nuances of the relationship between caregiver and the child and put the observation into words so that the caregiver and child can develop a healthy and secure attachment. They provide education on understanding infant and early childhood development; recognize and honor context of family, culture, and community; and provide screening, assessment, and clinical therapeutic interventions.
