Position Overview: We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Lead Line Cook to join our dynamic catering company. As the Lead Line Cook, you will be responsible for overseeing the culinary operations, coordinating the kitchen team, and ensuring the successful execution of our catering events. The ideal candidate will be fluent in both English and Spanish (Preferred), possess a valid driver's license, and have verifiable experience in a Lead Line Cook role. Follow and adhere to recipes provided by the company.
Responsibilities:
- Culinary Leadership: Lead the kitchen team during food preparation and execution, ensuring smooth operations, and maintaining high-quality food standards and presentation.
- Menu Planning: Collaborate with the culinary team and event coordinators to plan menus that align with the client's preferences, dietary requirements, and budget.
- Food Preparation: Prepare and cook a wide variety of dishes, ranging from appetizers to main courses and desserts, maintaining consistency and adhering to the company's standards.
- Kitchen Coordination: Oversee kitchen activities daily, during catering events, ensuring proper timing, and efficiency in food preparation and service.
- Quality Control: Ensure that all dishes leaving the kitchen are of the highest quality, visually appealing, and comply with health and safety standards.
- Ingredient Management: Responsible for inventory control, ordering, and proper storage of ingredients to minimize waste and maintain freshness.
- Training and Development: Train and mentor kitchen staff, guiding the culinary team on techniques, hygiene standards, and professional conduct.
- Adherence to Health and Safety: Maintain a clean and organized kitchen environment, following food safety guidelines, and ensuring all team members adhere to health and safety regulations.
- Multilingual Communication: Facilitate smooth communication between English and non-English speaking team members, enhancing teamwork and efficiency.
- Flexibility: Be adaptable and ready to handle changes in the event plan, last-minute requests, and challenging situations to ensure successful delivery and event outcomes.
Requirements:
- Bilingual Preferred: Fluent in English and Spanish to facilitate effective communication with the diverse team and clients.
- Valid Driver's License: Possess a valid driver's license without driving violations.
- Lead Line Cook Experience: Demonstrable experience as a Lead Line Cook or similar role in a catering company or high-volume kitchen environment.
- Culinary Skills: Proficient in various cooking techniques, food preparation, and plating to create exceptional dishes.
- Organizational Skills: Ability to manage multiple tasks, prioritize effectively, and maintain composure under pressure.
- Creativity: Bring innovative ideas and creativity to menu planning and dish presentation.
- Physical Stamina: Capable of standing for extended periods and lifting heavy items as required during food preparation and cooking.
- Food Safety Knowledge: Comply with food safety and hygiene standards, ensuring the safety of guests and staff.
- Team Player: Collaborate effectively with colleagues and possess strong leadership qualities to motivate the kitchen team.
