Diesel Truck/Tractor, Trailer and forklift mechanic providing maintenance for MEI fleet of forklifts (6k lb. to Versa Lift 60/80k) Peterbilt and KW tractors and Landoll/KS RGN flatbed trailers.

Ideal candidate can do mid-level mechanic work on diesel vehicles, routine PM service, brake service and hydraulic systems.

Determines vehicle condition by conducting inspections and diagnostic tests, identifying worn and damaged parts.

Basic knowledge of operating equipment (Forklifts, man lifts, mobile platform lifts, etc.)

Keeps equipment available for use by completing preventive maintenance schedules; installing component and part upgrades; controlling corrosion; completing winterization procedures.

Verifies vehicle performance by conducting test drives, adjusting controls and systems.

Maintains vehicle records by annotating services and repairs.

Keeps shop equipment operating by following operating instructions; troubleshooting breakdowns; maintaining supplies; performing preventive maintenance; calling for extensive and complex repairs.

Contains costs by using warranty, evaluating service and parts options.

Keeps supplies ready by inventorying stock; placing orders; verifying receipt.

Enhances maintenance department and organization reputation by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests; exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments.

Complete housekeeping duties in assigned area or project area daily and/or when required.

A certain degree of creativity and latitude is required.

Minimum Qualifications (Experience, Skills, and Education)

HS Diploma or GED equivalent

Minimum two (2) years proven fleet mechanic experience (Heavy Equipment and Vehicles)

Minimum of 1year of intermediate skills working in Microsoft office (Excel, Word, Outlook)
Preferred Qualifications (Experience, Skills, and Education)

Construction industry experience

Ability to use precision measuring tools and equipment, hand, power, and pneumatic tools.
