We are growing and now is a great time to join the BPI Packaging team. We are looking for an experienced Batch Makers to produce bulk materials for packaging production to the specifications on the batch card in a safe and timely manner.
Responsibilities:
· Accept tasks (batches) from Manager on a daily basis.
· Pre-stage raw materials for upcoming batches from pick list with Inventory Technician.
· Confirm stock levels of raw materials and components with Inventory Technician.
· Weigh and measure raw materials, ingredients, and/or products at specified intervals to ensure conformance to requirements.
· Blend raw materials in proper amounts with proper equipment according to Batch Card specifications.
Coordinate sample requests by QC Lab for testing and Batch approval or adjustment.
· Transfer materials, supplies, and products between storage and work areas, using fork lifts and moving equipment in a safe, effective, and efficient way.
· Transport empty drums, partial drums, and unused raw materials to designated storage areas.
· Maintain an efficient workplace; work safely and be proactive with safety issues.
· Clean, adjust and maintain equipment. Maintain clean work areas.
· Notify supervisors of needed repairs.
· Maintain PPE and apply when necessary.
Minimum Requirements:
· High school diploma.
· Four years experience in a production environment, preferably as a batch maker specific role.
· Knowledge of raw materials and batch mixing procedures.
· Professional attitude with good work ethic and a sense of integrity and pride in their job.
Abilities Required:
· Ability to lift 50-70 pounds on a daily basis.
· Proficiency and certification in the operation of material handling equipment including, but not limited to, narrow aisle and sit-down forklifts, order pickers, and power pallet jacks.
· Must be in good physical condition without lifting ailments or respiratory problems.
Working Conditions:
· Manufacturing/production environment with limited exposure to flammable materials/hazardous waste.
Must have recent Compounder/Batch maker experience.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $20.00 - $23.00 per hour
Expected hours: 30 – 45 per week
