Pediatric Nurse Practitioner
Kids First Pediatrics is expanding and looking for a new provider to join the team.
We are looking for a certified Nurse Practitioner with pediatrics experience.
The position requires:
- Provides medical services for patients from birth until 18 years of age, as delegated by the supervising Pediatric Physician and Chief Medical Officer.
- Prescribe medications and make recommendations for other forms of treatment.
- Maintains medical expertise and competency as well as demonstrates a thorough knowledge of procedures to deliver quality primary medical care. Provides medical sessions, as scheduled, in direct patient care at the health center.
- Examines, diagnoses treats and/or refers patients for appropriate specialty care services.
- Maintains a health record for each patient seen in accordance with the health center’s established information management policies and procedures.
- Perform, order, and interpret diagnostic studies and medical protocols.
- Reviews all lab and x-ray reports for patients under his/her care on a timely basis and makes medical management decisions appropriately. Follows appropriate standards of care for each patient.
- Provide education and support to patients and receive and address patient’s questions and problems.
- Collaborates with Chief Medical Director, Physicians, other Mid-Level Providers, Clinical Quality Manager, Site Supervisor, Medical Assistants, Front Desk Staff, and other team members to assess the needs of clients.
- Participates in the review and development of patient care policies, including health maintenance schedules and continuity of care.
- Ensures that patient and family/significant others are educated about diagnosis and the plan of care. Acts as a resource for facilitating communication when necessary.
- Participates in the evaluation of products, procedures, and patient care standards.
- Participates in conferences, and workshops in specified health promotion, and education and/or prevention programs as needed; attends and participates in clinic meetings/departmental meetings and other clinic functions as required by the Health Center.
- Accepts responsibility for remaining current with healthcare trends and information that impact the medical practice.
- All Health Center staff members have emergency and disaster response responsibilities. Participates in all safety programs which may include assignment to an emergency response team.
- Performs other duties as assigned including filling in for other providers at other sites during their absences.
- Proficient with EPIC EHR
- expected to see 18-25 patients/day
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $40-45/hr with productivity bonus
