Position Summary: We're a clinical research company seeking a contractor psychedelic therapist that's licensed in the state of Florida to come and join our team at Research Centers of America, located in Hollywood, Florida.
General Responsibilities
Provides therapeutic support for participants in psychedelic clinical studies.
Ensures proper preparation leading up to the treatment session, physical and psychological safety during the session, and supports the integration of the experience after the session in accordance with pharmaceutical sponsor study protocol.
Therapist/Facilitator will report any potential contraindications for participation in the study that may arise during therapist visits that would need to be communicated to the Principal Investigator to determine the participants continued eligibility.
Education/Training
o Psychologist (PhD, PsyD)
o Social Worker (MSW)
o Mental Health Counselor (MA, MS)
o Marriage and Family Therapist (MA, MS)
o Licensed Clinical professional Counselor (LCPC)
o Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP-BC)
· License Required- Psychedelic Therapist license that's current, unrestricted, and in good professional standing with no history of suspension, professional misconduct, or disciplinary actions for the state of Florida
· Experience – clinical experience with direct patient care in areas that require counseling, clinical research experience preferred
Skills and Abilities
· Empathic and abiding presence – have experience in altered states of consciousness
· Trust enhancement - facilitation of trust in the process
· Spiritual intelligence - comfortable and open to others religious/spiritual orientations
· Knowledge of the effects of psychedelics -basic understanding of mechanism of action, typical timing of onset, duration
· Self-awareness and ethical integrity
· Proficiency and complimentary techniques (mindfulness, guided meditation, breathing practices)
· Has the experience and wisdom to understand the degree of activity of the role and generally not act as an “inactive sitter” or “overactive guide” but can act in either of these roles as required
· Has the ability to stay relaxed and grounded in the presence of intense anxiety and other emotions that may be expressed emotionally or physically
