The J is Tucson’s premiere nonprofit wellness facility and community center. For over 35 years at our River and Dodge location, we have been taking an integrated perspective to wellness, with programs and events that serve people of all ages, abilities, faiths, and identities. We serve more than 10,000 people from all walks of life who come to the J to grow, play, learn, and relax.
Position Summary + Responsibilities:
We are seeking a mid-level Graphic Designer to help us execute our vision to be a strong, cohesive, easily recognizable, community-focused and mission-driven brand. The marketing team works closely with colleagues at all levels from all departments to produce a three-prong marketing strategy that includes inbound marketing, community engagement, and traditional promotion. Our purpose is to be champions for holistic wellness and to build authentic community by creating content that engages our audience in meaningful ways.

As the Sr. Graphic Designer you will:
1. Support the marketing department’s objectives by creating print and digital materials for promotional and organizational use (posters, flyers, brochures, web ads, swag, signage, annual reports, fundraising letters etc.)
2. Ensure adherence to visual brand standards across the agency
3. Provide project management support for promotional campaigns
4. Support colleagues in creating their own materials via the creation of easy-to-use marketing templates and systems (including Canva Teams)
5. Be the primary video and photo editor (sometimes utilizing motion graphics)
6. Design responsive graphics and provide visual design support for the agency website as well as website maintenance
7. Work directly with external vendors including printer and advertising reps to ensure all printed materials are packaged, submitted, and arrive in-house in a timely manner and digital ads are submitted to spec
8. Support with the creation and implementation of paid social media and Google ads
9. Own the distribution of marketing materials and monitor supply and tidiness throughout the building
10. Assist other departments with creative projects and needs as necessary
Ideal Qualifications, Skills + Abilities:
1. College degree in a related field and 3-5 years of relevant experience
2. Experience in graphic design and proficient in the Adobe Creative Suite (primarily InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator, After Effects)
3. Both creative and capable of working within a set of brand guidelines and specifications
4. Keen understanding of visual elements (layout, image selection, typeface, color use) and how to package design work for print/digital use
5. Experience with video and photo editing, web design (specifically for WordPress/Elementor), page setup, digital advertising,
6. Can fulfill a creative brief, ask questions, receive feedback, iterate, and collaborate with team members
7. Meticulous attention to detail (including basic copy-editing ability), a proven ability to work in a fast-paced environment, and comfortable working to deadline
8. Strong organizational skills and some experience working with a project management system (experience with Monday.com a plus)
9. Enthusiastic self-starter who is comfortable creating their own systems and processes for efficient workflow
10. Proficient in balancing multiple projects with agility and prioritize tasks effectively
Salary Range: $45,000 - $55,000
