Job Title: Diesel Mechanic
Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled Diesel Mechanic/Welder to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for inspecting, maintaining, and repairing diesel engines and heavy equipment. The Diesel Mechanic will play a crucial role in ensuring the safe and efficient operation of our vehicles and machinery.
Duties:
- Perform routine maintenance on diesel engines including oil changes, filter replacements, and fluid checks.
- Diagnose mechanical issues and perform repairs on diesel engines, transmissions, brakes, and other components.
- Weld and fabricate parts as needed for repairs.
- Conduct tire service including mounting, balancing, and repairing tires.
- Interpret schematics and technical manuals to troubleshoot problems.
- Operate heavy equipment to test machinery after repairs.
- Inspect air brake systems and make necessary adjustments.
- Maintain accurate records of all maintenance and repairs performed.
- Conduct brake repairs, shocks, struts replacements, and other related tasks.
- Collaborate with service technicians to ensure timely completion of work orders.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a Diesel Mechanic or similar role.
- Proficiency in welding and fabrication techniques.
- Familiarity with reading schematics and technical manuals.
- Experience in heavy equipment operation is a plus.
- Knowledge of air brake systems maintenance.
- Ability to assemble and disassemble machinery efficiently.
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
