Education:
High School Diploma and combination of education, training, relevant experience and certification, preferably in a medical office/clinic environment or health administration environment. Any appropriate combination of relative education, certifications, and/or work experience may be considered.
Work Experience:
Minimum 2 year experience working in a health care setting. Extensive knowledge of patient access, insurance verification, insurance plan authorizations (indemnity, PPO, HMO, auto insurance, workers compensation insurance), electronic medical billing, medical legal case work, use of an electronic medical records system.
Skills and Duties:
*Excellent customer service, interpersonal communications, critical thinking, problem solving, and conflict resolution skills.
*Excellent computer skills and typing skills
*Must demonstrate strong leadership and team building skills.
*Must be able to manage detailed tasks when entering demographics into computer system.
*Significant experience with insurance, billing, and AR management
*Greet and check in patients, collect patient copays, and collect balances.
*Check out patients and make follow up appointments.
*Document Durable Medical Equipment sales.
*Collect fees for services not covered by insurances and from self pay patients
*Team player that is a friendly, outgoing, people person.
*Multitasking skills are required to simultaneously answer busy multi-line phones and assist with patient related duties.
*Ensure completion and scanning of patient paper work and forms into the electronic medical record.
*Bilingual in English and Spanish is preferred
*Trouble-shoot insurance claims
*Obtain MRI scan authorizations
*Filing, faxing, and other related front desk tasks
