The construction Commercial Superintendent is an ambitious, enthusiastic partner who ignites positive solutions through leadership and the professional management of all field operations of commercial projects. The commercial superintendent assists in achieving this goal by providing oversight to our client’s construction projects. This includes but is not limited to providing years of specialized experience, quality assurance, maintaining safety, assisting with the development of the subcontractor scopes of work, managing self-performing labor force, and creating and updating master CPM project schedules. These skills along with a diverse knowledge of the industry and a client-focused approach, ensures the commercial superintendent will successfully meet the needs of our clients and partners.
Skillset & Experience:
- Minimum of three to seven years of experience as a construction Superintendent or in a related position is required.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience professionally managing the following types of commercial (office, retail, hospitality, food services) projects and related jobs:
- Commercial tenant improvement projects
- Commercial ground up projects
- Commercial projects in occupied spaces
- Experience in taking a project from mobilization and job start through closeout.
- Must be capable of verifying layout per design drawings and have a clear understand of details and finishes
- Advanced knowledge of safety protocols and the ability to complete Safety Check Lists, Infection Control Plans, and Pre-construction Task Plans.
- The ability to document daily activities and complete reports and appropriate paperwork completely and in a timely manner.
- The ability to complete special reports and/or forms required by the owner (i.e. system shutdown requests, heat, smoke and/or dust permit, etc.).
- Knowledgeable regarding the benefits and expectations of each subcontractor as their roles pertain to individual projects.
- Proficient at managing onsite crews and continually inspecting and verifying installations of materials/products to ensure quality.
- Professionally manage relationships with subcontractors while professionally partnering with clients.
- Skilled at maintaining good standing with all jurisdiction agencies.
- The ability to establish and ensure adherence to onsite and related rules and regulations.
- Experience planning and executing successful utility shut down procedures.
- Able to physically move up to 100lbs and have the endurance to walk jobsites, in various conditions for extended periods time. Other physical activities may include but are not limited to climbing, crawling, lifting and carrying construction related objects.
- The position will include traveling to different work sites and working in various climate conditions.
Technical Competencies:
- Strong understanding of design concepts of mechanical systems and controls including central plant equipment. Firsthand experience troubleshooting mechanical systems, controls, and balancing issues.
- Advanced skillset in creating and managing the master schedules with CPM strategies. The ability to do so with multiple scheduling software products.
- Proficient understanding of and the ability to communicate regarding the project’s critical path.
- Experience being directly responsible for MEP coordination on projects must be capable of MPE design review & verify layout.
- Experience in the development and management of a quality assurance and control program.
- Deep knowledge of construction related contracts and the ability to understand them from the owner’s and GC perspectives.
- Minimum intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, including Microsoft Projects
- Experience working with Bluebeam is preferred.

Certifications, Training & Associations:
- OSHA 10 is required
- OSHA 30 is not required to start as a Superintendent but is required to maintain the position and for advancement.
- Knowledge of Quality Assurance, Quality Control (QAQC)
- Knowledge of ISO Standards
- Knowledge of Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) is beneficial but not required.
- Active participation in industry and sector related organizations and associations

Pay: $45.00 - $48.00 per hour
