The Maintenance Technician Position is responsible for performing highly diversified duties to install, troubleshoot, repair and maintain production and facility equipment according to safety, predictive and productive maintenance system and processes to support the achievement of the site's business goals and objectives.
Essential Requirements:
- Install, services and repairs wiring, conduits, fixtures and other electrical devices.
- Diagnose and repair automated control systems including components such as PLC's Remote I/O, VFD's analog sensors, limit switches, and photo eyes.
- Diagnose electrical problems and repair them, install wiring systems and electrical components, and maintaining complex equipment.
- Perform high diversified duties to install and maintain production machines and the facility's equipment including conveyors, vibrators, hydraulic lift tables, transfer belts, and mixers.
- Work as a lead person with one or two helpers to install and commission new equipment or overhaul/modify existing systems.
- Provide emergency/unscheduled repairs of production equipment during production during production and performs scheduled maintenance repairs of production equipment during machine service.
- Perform preventive maintenance duties of all mechanical equipment.
- Responsible for the connection of wires of circuit breakers, transformers, or other components.
- Responsible for observing and following all safety regulations with required PPE.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Must have strong organizational skills, multi-task, and have extreme attention to detail.
- PLC knowledge including troubleshooting, repair, and programming a plus.
- Knowledge of motor control system including vfd's and contactors required.
- Experience with photo eyes, limit switches, proximity switches, and laser analog sensors.
- Hydraulic experience including repair, upgraded and maintenance.
- Knowledge of pneumatic control systems including control valves, switches, cylinders and rotators, regulators, compressors and supply systems.
- Experience and ability to modify production lines including welding and fabrication.
- Plumbing experience with piping systems, valves, pumps, and tanks.
- Experience with roller and chain conveyors, belts, augers, and gear boxes a plus.
- Ability to operate equipment such as forklift, scissors lift, skid loader, etc.
- Strict adherence to safety practices and company policies.
- Employ LEAN manufacturing process improvement principles.
- Ability to communicate effectively with production teams as well as management.
- Must speak English fluently
- Comfortable using basic organization email and communication.
Physical Requirement:
- Be exposed to seasonal temperature extremes inside or out.
- Operate various assembly/manufacturing/repair tools.
- Must be able to position self to maintain equipment including under equipment.
- Ability to climb ladders and work at heights that can exceed 50ft.
- Be able to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
- Be exposed to sounds or noise levels that may be uncomfortable.
- Prolong standing or in stationary position for long periods of time.
- Complete repetitive movements.
- Bend or twist.
- Wear all required personal protective equipment.
- Lift/move/transport items up to 75 pounds.
- Be in the position to move/traverse about inside site to access machinery, etc.
- Regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts and fumes or airborne particles.
- Should have strong hand-eye coordination.
- Specific vision abilities including close vision, distance vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, and depth.
- Sufficient physical reflexes and personal mobility.
- Constantly operates machinery, positions, sets up, handles or tends to, modifies.
- Work outside of normal business hours, occasionally on short notice.
Experience:
- Minimum 5 years electrical experience, manufacturing preferred.
- Minimum 8 years mechanical experience, manufacturing preferred.
- Leadership experience required.
- Certifications/licenses in applicable field/trade a plus.
Compensation, Schedule, & Benefits:
- Pay $28-40 per hour.
- Schedule is subject to change- Monday- Friday with Occasional Weekends.
