Mechanical/Dimensional Metrology
Must have at least 12 credit hours of college Physics or Mechanical Engineering.
Must have at least 6 credit hours of college mathematics, such as college Algebra, Trigonometry, or Geometry. Must have at least 3 credit hours of computer courses.
Must possess a minimum of 2 years of metrology related work experience applicable to the Pantex Metrology Standards Laboratory area for which the vacancy exists.
Must demonstrate knowledge of precision measurement and precision measurement equipment as determined by a structured interview.
OR
Must have attained the PMEL/TMDE (Level 5 - Journeyman, or higher level); or have an Associate Degree in Metrology, or a related Engineering or Engineering Technology field, such as Physics, Math, or Mechanical Engineering.
Must have at least 3 credit hours of computer courses. Must have a minimum of 2 years recent metrology experience as currently being performed in the applicable Pantex Metrology Standards Laboratory.

Electronic Metrology

In addition, the applicant must meet the requirements of DOE O 426.2 (i.e., 1 year job-related experience, or a DOE O 426.2 alternative). DOE 426.2 experience requirements can be satisfied following employment. In the interim, newly hired personnel will not be assigned duties that could impact the safety basis of nuclear facilities.
