Quality Control Manager C&C
Develops, plans, promotes and directs the quality control program and team to ensure continuous production of products consistent with established policies, practices, procedures and standards. Oversees the quality management system and compliance to standards.
RESPONSIBILITIES, FUNCTIONS AND TASKS
· Develop, direct and oversee the quality control staff.
· Oversee and orchestrate the effective documentation and implementation of the quality management system.
· Provide quality assurance support to manufacturing in all area, including processes/procedures, product defects or product testing.
· Conduct initial product qualifications/validation runs for new or existing products or processes.
· Follow the requirements received from the Segment Quality Management, including improvement targets and general procedures and systematics.
· To participate in all global improvement activities as required, especially those related to product quality assurance.
AUDITS
· Schedule, coordinate and lead all internal, external and third party audit processes:
· Support, maintain and analyze technical aspects of the quality management system and perform ISO 9001 internal audits of processes and procedures in coordination with the Q&E and H&S Manager.
· LAYERED PROCESS AUDITS – to ensure compliance with quality management system and processes
· CUSTOMER AUDITS - Ensure compliance with the customer requirements, quality policy, company standards and regulatory requirements.
· Issue corrective action requests and perform follow up actions to prevent reoccurrence of deficiencies.
INTERNAL QUALITY
· Ensure NCR procedure is followed by the different Value Streams, gather data on their performance of FPY, Scrap, Deviations, etc, process all that data and report quality metrics (CoQ, MRB value, etc) to the organization
· Ensure that corrective and preventative actions are taken on a timely manner by the Value Streams to avoid escaping defects and protect the customer
INCOMING INSPECTION:
· Ensure incoming parts and materials meet customer and quality standards using RCC cards.
· Work with SQA to establish quality requirements for external suppliers.
CUSTOMER QUALITY
· Respond to and resolve any customer or supplier issues regarding quality of products or components with the help of Global Customer Quality team
· Manage and maintain corrective action system and manage customer complaints regarding quality of products, processes or procedures.
IMPROVEMENT
· Capture opportunities for improvement driven from employee feedback
· Lead process improvement initiatives, failure rates and quality cost
· Review and analyze process data results for continuous improvement
WORK EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
· 5+ years quality assurance & continuous improvement experience required. 2+ years manufacturing experience preferred.
· Prior management experience preferred. Experience in an automotive environment preferred.
· Experience developing and maintaining quality systems, implementing correction actions and resolving customer complaints.
· Must have strong leadership, communication, interpersonal, decision making, organizational and customer service skills. Must be able to motivate, coach and teach others.
· Must have the ability to efficiently multi-task, have strong attention to detail, and have the ability to respond to changing priorities and work in a fast paced environment.
· Must be able to work effectively with a team and be able to collaborate with others to achieve goals.
· Must be able to anticipate, analyze and solve problems, develop alternatives and make or recommend sound decisions.
· Must be achievement oriented, with a high ambition to succeed.
· Experience in lean manufacturing and 6S principles and tools highly preferred.
· Knowledge of quality and environmental systems and standards (ISO 9001 and 14001) and, health & safety standards (OSHA or ISO 45001) preferred.
· Knowledge of automotive manufacturing concepts and standards preferred (FMEA, APQP).
· Advanced Microsoft Office Skills (Excel, Word, Access, PowerPoint, MS Outlook).
· Experience with an ERP system required, preferably SAP. Must have advanced knowledge of QA software and statistical modeling.
· Ability to speak Spanish a plus.
ACADEMIC REQUIREMENTS
· Bachelor’s degree in Quality, Industrial, Manufacturing, Industrial, Mechanical Engineering or other related degree required. Equivalent combination of education and experience required, in lieu of degree.
