Job Responsibilities
- Weld steel components with welding equipment as specified by layouts, engineering drawings, work orders or verbal instructions
- Ability to recognize welding symbols and specifications
- Operate forklifts, crane hoists, hand power tools, slings, grinders, cutting torch and other hand tools related to the jobs needs
- Be able to read, understand and follow job order specifications, engineering drawings, and/or work orders
- Inspect equipment
- Evaluate finished products and perform quality checks on products
- Basic math skills and mechanical aptitude
- Must be thoroughly familiar with welding equipment such as torches, torch tips, filler rods, flux, hoses, valves, and gas cylinders
- Repair and fabricates various items and equipment using cutting, burning, and welding techniques and equipment.
- Monitor the welding, burning, and fitting process to ensure parts are not overheated or damaged by warping, distortion, expansion, or shrinkage.
- Work with other technicians as needed to inspect pump systems and related equipment and makes recommendations for repairs, replacements, or calibrations as needed
- Work with other technicians as needed to troubleshoot and repair common electrical issues such as three-phase and single-phase electrical system, including capacitors and start relay
- Respond to emergency situations as necessary during normal working hours and as needed to meet customer needs
- Perform Planned Maintenance as required
Requirements
- Basic understanding of design techniques, principles, and tools necessary for the precise production of technical plans, drawings, models and blueprints.
- Excellent ability to read and listen to assignments given in a variety of forms.
- Basic understanding of mathematics as related to welding assignments.
