The role of the accountant is to assist the CFO and Assistant Controller and Senior Accountants with project-based tasks and other duties as assigned. The goal of this position is to not be tied up in assigned day-to-day tasks but have the ability to fill in on tasks as needed (projects, internal controls and filling in for teammates during sick, PTO and FMLA leave)

- Execute high level Microsoft Excel skills including pivot tables, multi-directional x-lookup, IF formulas, workbook to workbook link management, etc.
- Compile, organize and efficiently navigate large data sets (50K+ data points).
- Understand financial statements and general ledger account structure.
- Understand and execute internal controls and internal audits as needed.
- Support accounting functions as needed when team bandwidth is limited.
- Manage and complete all projects as assigned.

Work Environment
This job operates in an office setting and outside on scrap/vehicle pickers yards. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.

Position Type and Expected Hours of Work
This is a full-time position. Typical days and hours of work are Monday through Friday 8:00 a.m. to 4 p.m., and Saturdays as needed. However, as with most accounting positions, there may be times of low activity requiring less time and times of high activity, requiring time outside of those boundaries. Limited remote work as approved by the CFO and Assistant Controller.
Travel
Regular travel is required to perform internal audit functions at our satellite locations in the tri-state area (AR, TX, LA). This travel is largely within the confines of a workday. Other travel outside of that is minimal.
