We are seeking a Food Sales Representative for Metro NYC, covering the regions of New York, New Jersey, and Connecticut. This is a remote position, but candidates must reside within the region.
Our company is a manufacturer and distributor of food ingredients and components.
Responsibilities:
The main responsibility of this role is to develop both existing and new business opportunities in the Metro area. Specifically, targeting independent and corporate food service establishments, restaurants, specialty stores, and convenience stores. The goal is to achieve top line sales and profit growth.
In collaboration with the Director of Sales, you will develop strategies, presentations, execution plans, programs, promotional activities, and procedures.
You will work closely with targeted Regional Brokers to outline sales objectives and priorities per account, in order to drive revenue.
Qualifications:
To be considered for this role, you should have at least 3-5 years of sales experience within the food industry. Experience in targeting food service, specialty, convenience store, and independent accounts is highly desired.
You must have a solid understanding of the sales process and dynamics.
We are looking for a disciplined self-starter with a hunter and entrepreneurial mindset.
Experience working with brokers and distributors is preferred.
Proficiency in using Excel and a customer relationship management (CRM) software is required.
Excellent customer service skills are essential.
You must be motivated to win business opportunities and be comfortable working in a fast-paced environment.
Superb interpersonal skills, including the ability to quickly build rapport with customers, are a must.
Travel within the region is required. It is estimated to be approximately 50% or more.
Compensation:
The salary for this position is $75-100K, with a paid quarterly bonus based on achieved key performance indicators (sales volume, customer acquisition, sales turnover, CRM use).
