SUMMARY:
We are seeking a motivated candidate to set-up, service and break down assigned functions in a safe, accident-free manner.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following:
- Read BEO and know how to complete a set-up
- Set tables and others areas as assigned correctly and uniformly.
- Keep station neat and clean while servicing guest per established policies and procedures.
- Use proper in-room clearing and aisle tray break-down buffet or other special food service tables and equipment.
- Setting up/breaking down buffet or other special food service tables and equipment.
- Greet and serve guests following guidelines set by the policies/procedures regarding the service of food and beverage.
- Providing bar service to guests, including cash and credit services following all guest check and money-handling procedures when serving a-la-carte and beverage orders.
- Endures all appropriate side work is accomplished and other duties as assigned by management.
- Serving food and beverage to guests at their tables or at serving stations
- Running food from the kitchen to the tables
- Creating a pleasant atmosphere for dining and entertainment
- Cleaning up after events and aiding in inventory
NON-ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS include the following:
- Know the menu for each function served and be able to explain the major ingredients and preparation methods for each item to be served.
- Know and use "Suggestive Selling" techniques.
REQUIREMENTS:
- High school or equivalent
- Two years’ hotel banquet/catering/food/beverage service experience
- Able to read and speak English
- Able to lift, push, carry 20 - 40 lbs.
- Knowledge of catering best practices
- Driver's license and reliable transportation
- Local travel for outside catering functions only
- Flexible; Scheduled days and times vary based on need
- Ability to handle high-stress situations
- Strong communication skills for discussing with colleagues
- Comfortable rapport with guests in a friendly and professional manner
- Understanding of food and beverage health and safety requirements
NOTICE:
Friendwell Managed Hotels function twenty-four hours a day, seven days a week, 365 days a year. As a part of the hospitality industry a hospitable service atmosphere must be maintained at all times. All employees are required to project a friendly, welcoming, and positive attitude.
