Summary
The Jr. Assistant Construction Project Manager / Estimator is responsible for assisting the Program management team in handling different directions of multiple construction projects (plans, budgets, schedules, organizes, and controls assigned projects). Maintains close contact with clients, and monitors construction and financial activities. This also includes management of issues, risks, and project change requests to ensure successful and on-time project delivery. Must contribute to process improvement initiatives as it relates to improving project delivery.
The ideal candidate will effectively and accurately manage multiple projects as identified by Leadership from start to completion with well-documented and organized project management skills to support project objectives. The Jr. Assistant Construction Project Manager will work with the Leadership of the organization in order to accomplish key milestones on time and within plan as well as develop relationships within and outside the company in order to be able to drive to completion the projects she/he is assigned to. Projects will require the use of classified information and will require a clearance or the ability to acquire one. This position requires travel to site visits. This is a full-time contract position as a Jr. Assistant Project Manager / Estimator and a Secret or Top-Secret Clearance preferred.
Responsibilities
- Organize and able to track the FRMACC projects
- Track RFIs and RFI responses
- Track amendments
- Reviewing the FOPR and SOW to identify ALL trades that will need be involved with the projectMake sure that everything is covered and that we do not have any holes in proposals
- Contacting potential subcontractors
- Line up subcontractors to attend site visit
- Build relationships with potential subcontractors
- Identify any long lead items
- Discuss scheduling (lead times and onsite time)
- Attend the site visits (Peterson SFB, Buckley SFB, USAF Academy, FE Warren AFB, Schriever SFB, Cheyenne Mountain AFB, Ft Carson) Colorado and Wyoming
- Understating the Scope before the site visit so that they know what to look for at the site visit.
- Take pictures if able
- Provide pictures to subcontractors not able to attend
- Compile RFIs and follow up to make sure that we receive the responses
- Identify potential risks (Both from the SOW and at Site Visit) and communicate what needs to be done to mitigate the risk?
- Identify any sole source vendors involved (this may be base specific controls/fire alarm)
- Compile Proposal Documents as detailed in the FOPRs
- Provide me with the subcontractor pricing and scheduling so that I can compile the pricing portion of the proposal.
- A degree in project management, business management or a related field.
- Must have at least 3 years' experience as a Assistant Project Manager on Government contracts.
- Ability to estimate construction projects utilizing RS Means.
- Ability to travel to site visits and provide detailed report to generate proposals.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Proficiency with CPM scheduling utilizing software to include Microsoft Project and Primavera P6.
- Excellent planning and time management skills.
- Excellent leadership abilities.
- Ability to read Federal contract documents and comply with requirements.
- High levels of leadership and communication skills, both written and verbal.
- High level of organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to manage a team(s) on multiple projects.
- In-depth understanding of the construction industry, and the federal market.
- Must be able to read and interpret complex project blueprints/plans and specifications; to include site/civil, structural, architectural, mechanical, and electrical drawings
- Must be able to pass all required contract security requirements.
- Experience with JOC, SATOC, MATOC and SABER contracts highly desired.
- A valid driver's license is required.

Qualifications

- Military or Construction experience preferred
- Proficient level in MS Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint required
- Proficiency of Adobe Acrobat
- Ability to effectively and efficiently perform Internet research
