Job Summary:
The Maintenance Mechanic will ensure plant production equipment continues to operate safely and efficiently utilizing skills to reduce unwanted downtime. We are seeking highly organized and detail-oriented candidates, with strong multi-tasking and time-management proficiency. Candidates must be able to analyze and troubleshoot electrical, automation, mechanical, and operational problems on all equipment.
Requirements
- 5+ years with a machine repair and maintenance in a manufacturing or production environment
- Ability to diagnose and repair equipment of all kinds, including automated production machines, conveyors, and sensors
- Solid background with electrical repairs
- Able to follow instructions to address most pressing priority as directed by leadership
Responsibilities
- Observe operation of Production equipment and note areas requiring repairs and modifications.
- Performs minor electrical maintenance using appropriate hand, power and specialty tools.
- Troubleshoot equipment failure and adjust, repair or replace the correct part using power or hand tools as appropriate.
- Performs minor plumbing maintenance (e.g. replacements or repair of leaks in drains and faucet unclogging)
- Troubleshoots mechanical or electrical problems in an efficient manner.
- Reconfigures, installs, positions, and remount’s modular offices and space (e.g. Furniture, wall panels, work surfaces, storage bins, lighting, file cabinets, etc.) to accommodate user needs and maximize office space using various hand power and specialty tools, dollies and hand trucks.
- Prepare surfaces and paints various structures and equipment (e.g. Walls, Refrigerators, evaporative coolers, floors, roofs, restroom facilities, etc.) to preserve wood and metal parts from corrosion and maintain a safe comfortable working environment using various painting equipment and related tools.
- Following all OSHA, HAZMAT, USDA, FDA, and EPA rules and regulations.
- Have an understanding of corrective and preventive work order (CMMS system).
- Performing other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
- Preferred Formal training (certification) in a mechanical-industrial-related trade.
- Strong engineering/mechanical/electrical background.
- Prior maintenance experience in a food manufacturing setting is preferred.
- Prior experience with CMMS (work order PM system).
- Experience with cooling systems.
- Strong written and oral communication skills.
- Possess basic knowledge of OSHA and Food Safety regulations.
- Basic pneumatic, conveyor, and electrical experience and prior work with PLC’s.
- Ability to work with and on welding or fabrication equipment.
