What you will do:
· Lead a team of Manufacturing Engineers responsible for the following activities;
o Determine methods of assembly for both simple and complex automotive electrical / electronic assemblies including testing and inspection operations
o Work with internal and external manufactures to specify and commission manufacturing equipment
o Determining plant layouts for new equipment
o Work closely with Quality Engineering & Manufacturing departments to identify the root cause for non-conforming product; help to develop and implement countermeasures.
o Identify and implement Continuous Improvement opportunities in areas of responsibility.
o Develop and maintain Process Flow Diagrams, PFMEA and packaging plans for assigned projects
o Participate and lead in the development of standardized work, job instructions, and operator aids
o Work with tool shop to design and build fixtures and assembly aids
Required Knowledge & Skills
· Microsoft Office
· Manufacturing time studies (TAKT time, cycle time, elemental studies)
· Plastic joining techniques (ultrasonic welding, vibration welding, etc.)
· 2D and 3D CAD
· Electrical assembly test methods (continuity, Hipot, etc.)
· Lean manufacturing principles
· Solid basis in statistics and data analysis techniques
· Experience leading teams and driving actionable results
· Highly organized and efficient in approaching tasks, a self-starter with ability to problem solve and anticipate and avoid issues
· Impeccable organization and efficiency skills; strong attention to detail
· Interfaces with wide array of individuals and departments, balances multiple tasks and maintains positive attitude and energy
· Strong team player, work ethic and commitment to win
· Prior experience with injection molding / injection molds preferred
Education and Experience Requirements
· Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or Engineering Technology
