The Role:
**To conform to U.S. export control regulations, applicant should be eligible for any required authorizations from the U.S. Government.**
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES includes the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Develops, implements and maintains methods, operation sequence and processes in the manufacture or fabrication of parts, components, sub-assemblies and final assemblies.
- Interfaces with design engineering in coordinating the release of new products.
- Estimates manufacturing cost, determines time standards, and makes recommendations for tooling and process requirements of new or existing product lines.
- Maintains records and reporting systems for coordination of manufacturing operations.
- Perform new process development, monitor and maintain the processes in all areas of manufacturing including but not limited to assembly, soldering, coating, prep, and related equipment with consideration of ISO-9001-2000, J-STD-001, IPC-A-61 0 Class 3, and other Quality standards relative to DoD contracts.
- Generate, implement, and maintain Manufacturing Documentation including but not limited to: work instructions, lot travelers, flow diagrams, procedures, and manufacturing proposal documentation.
- Evaluate, trouble shoot, recommend, and implement solutions related to all manufacturing processes, operational systems, procedures, and documentation.
- Select, propose, and sometimes design equipment and tooling for manufacturing as well as set up, process development, implementation, and maintenance of said equipment.
- Support manufacturing and proposal efforts by establishing and maintaining labor standards, cost estimates, capacity planning, throughput time standards, floor layouts, and schedules.
- One of the main interfaces for customers and vendors for problem solving, bid proposals, and related issues.
- Perform electrical, software and mechanical designs. Examine and review drawings, blueprints, schematics, work orders, vendor catalogs and other technical data to ensure compliance with specifications and requirements.
- Initiate requests for engineering changes to ensure compliance with established standards.
- Prepare documentation to support the needs of the Company, to include test plans, test procedures, test reports, reliability and life studies, and reports on failure analysis.
- Write and address change requests, to include Engineering Change Requests, Engineering Change Notices, Engineering Change Proposals, Requests for Deviations and Requests for Waivers.
QUALIFICATIONS
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
Bachelors in technical discipline, prefer Industrial or Mechanical Engineering plus a minimum of 5-10 year’s direct industry experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS: The individual must be capable of working on production and breadboard electronics, to include soldering of modern electrical components, working with mechanical fasteners such as screws, bolts and nuts, be capable of reading part numbers on electrical components such as integrated circuits (with viewing assistance), be able to differentiate color codes on resistors and to differentiate wire colors in a wire bundle, to be capable of carrying equipment up to 25 pounds for reasonable distances, electrical test equipment and environmental test equipment, to be able to type on a computer keyboard and to use a computer mouse or other suitable pointing device and to travel in automobiles or common air carriers for travel purposes. To the extent possible, accommodations for those incapable of meeting these requirements shall be provided.
