About the job
The Packaging Associate is responsible for the production of finished tub product through the process of filling and labeling tubs with finished tobacco and applying appropriate labeling and packaging materials. The normal shift is 40 hours per week in a manufacturing environment, 6:00 AM – 4:30 PM, Monday - Thursday. This position may be assigned special projects, as determined by the Supervisor Packaging.
Essential Functions
- Ensure Safety Procedures and manufacturing processes are followed (Personal protective equipment, production machinery has the proper safety guards in place and properly secured, lockout/tag out, etc.)
- Ensure all daily production records are completed accurately and properly filed
- Operate machinery to produce quality products and perform necessary quality checks
- Clean equipment daily in accordance with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs)
Minimum Qualifications
- Ability to move/lift up to 50 pounds unassisted
- Ability to spend the required shift hours (8-12 depending on shift) standing, walking, lifting, pulling and pushing
- May require climbing of ladders
- Solid reading skills, basic math skills, and reasoning skills
- Responsible for being knowledgeable of and action in strict accordance with the requirements of all relevant laws, regulations, and Company policies, including among other areas, Food and Drug Administration regulations
- General awareness knowledge of the ISO9001 Quality Management System requirements, company Quality Policy and your contributions to the effectiveness of the QMS
