We are seeking a highly experienced and strategic Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to join our leadership team and help drive our success.
Position Overview:
As the CFO of STS Steel, you will play a critical role in ensuring the financial health of the organization. As a member of the executive team, you will help to drive financial growth, optimize operations, and maintain financial stability. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in financial leadership within a similar industry.
Key Responsibilities:
Financial Strategy, Planning & Analysis: Develop and execute the company's financial strategy in alignment with its long-term goals and objectives. Prepare and oversee budgets, financial forecasts, and financial modeling to guide decision-making and resource allocation.
Financial Reporting: Work with staff to ensure timely and accurate financial reports to the executive team, board of directors, and other stakeholders, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements and Work in Progress WIP reports. Interface with banks and surety to ensure appropriate credit and bonding programs.
Risk Management: Identify and assess financial risks and implement strategies to mitigate them, ensuring the company's financial stability. This includes but is not limited to subcontractors, contractors and customer performance and credit assessments.
Corporate Legal Management: Review, modify and create construction contracts. Assist in the resolution of construction or other claims. Assist in development of litigation strategy and manage outside counsel relationships.
Cash and Capital Management: Manage cash flow and working capital effectively to support daily operations and investment opportunities. Evaluate and optimize the company's capital structure, including debt financing.
Cost Management: Implement and monitor cost control measures to improve profitability and efficiency, including procurement strategies and expense management.
Compliance: Ensure compliance with all relevant financial regulations, tax laws, and accounting standards. Oversee the 401K and ESOP administration including communication with the Trustee.
Team Leadership: Assist the President to lead a high-performing team, providing mentorship and guidance to enhance their skills and performance.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in, Accounting, finance or a related field; MBA or CPA preferred.
Minimum of 10 years of progressive financial leadership experience.
Strong understanding of financial management in the manufacturing or steel fabrication industry with ability to create a meaningful work in process report (WIP).
Proven ability to develop and implement financial strategies that drive growth and profitability.
Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Familiarity with ERP systems and financial software.
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
