Landscape/Hardscape Crew Member Position Opening.
$18-$22 Starting Rate Based on Experience
Position Overview
- The landscape/hardscape department conducts all work in the field and the primary functions include, but are not limited to: hardscaping, planting, seeding, soil preparation, installations, erosion control, and operation of seeding equipment.
- Knowledge of hardscapes and operation of other specialized equipment is helpful but not necessary, will teach equipment operation.
- Operation on job sites on Lake Panorama
Job Responsibilities
-Installation of planting, seeding, soil preparation, erosion control, and operation of seeding equipment
-Installation of retaining walls, pavers, boulders, masonry work
-Operation and light maintenance of equipment; if unfamiliar, consistently demonstrate willingness to learn
-Knowledge of hardscape materials and the ability to assemble is extremely helpful
-Knowledge of irrigation systems and components and ability to install is helpful
-Adhere to quality and safety standards
-Demonstrates competency in operating basic landscape hand tools or power tools
-Meet deadlines and expectations expressed by manager or foreman
-Effectively communicate with manager, foreman and crew
-Accurately record hours worked on a daily basis, as expected
-Other assigned duties during months when hours decrease will consist of preparation for upcoming projects, organizing inventory, and shop work - when available
-Other duties as assigned
Characteristics Needed to Succeed
-Must have a valid driver’s license and have the ability to be added onto the company's insurance policy.
-CDL preferred, not required.
-Accurately record hours worked on a daily basis, as expected per project
-Strong verbal communication skills with crew members and foremen.
-Must be able to work in a safety aware environment
-Ability to work in all types of weather conditions
-Regular and prompt attendance required
-Ability to work alternate hours and travel to multiple locations (occasionally and as needed)
-Must be available for extended hours during snow events; mandatory overtime

-While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear. This position is very active and requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling, and climbing all day with the ability to be mobile throughout required work areas. The employee must frequently lift and/or move items up to 50 lbs. The employee will be required to generate up to 125 lbs of push/pull force when maneuvering various equipment/supplies. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
Work Environment
-While performing the duties of this job, the employee will be expected to work outside in all types of weather conditions; conditions include occasional extreme heat exposure due to natural climate. The noise level in the work environment can be loud; vibration levels are moderate.
