Key Responsibilities include but not limited to:
- Inspect equipment daily and before the line starts to make sure it is clean and sanitary.
- Set up and ensure metal detectors are working effectively as instructed.
- Set up and/or adjust the check weighers.
- Set up workstations correctly and effectively.
- Ensure Best By Dates, tape, labels, and other supplies are correct according to product specifications.
- Create and print case labels according to product specifications.
- Communicate with all production crew to ensure positive flow of production and accomplish goals of the packaging schedule.
- Operate the machinery at optimum conditions conducive to product quality and productivity.
- Work closely with Production Supervisor to ensure smooth flow of production and packaging lines.
- Inspect and remove defective products and packaging materials.
- Ensure all bags have good seals.
- Conduct changeovers, replacing packaging film as needed.
- Work with quality control and keep records to ensure standards are good.
- Maintain efficient operation of equipment.
- Maintain housekeeping standards while the line is running.
- Ensure safety and sanitation measures are being followed.
- Monitor team members to make sure all procedures are being followed.
- Troubleshoot and proactively solve potential problems with equipment.
- Perform product quality and QA checks to eliminate or reduce product waste or rework.
- Perform hourly weight or count checks, oxygen level tests, metal detection, and blade inspection.
- Verify pallets tags and ensure the pallets are being stacked according to customers’ requirements hourly.
- Direct the packaging team to assist others team members where needed on other lines or rework when machines are down.
- Fill out and submit reports on productivity, quality control findings, machine, conditions, and tracking finished goods.
- Manage team to start on time at the beginning of shift, after breaks and lunch.
- Ensure and motivate team members to achieve expected hourly output.
- Maintain current records by filling out required paperwork correctly and completely throughout the run.
- Clean and sanitize the line, sweep floors, wipe machinery, pick up clutter.
- Record products and materials waste.
Job Requirements include but not limited to:
- Must have knowledge and minimum of 2-year experience working with VFFS, Pouch and Cup filling machine.
- Must be able to troubleshoot and do basic maintenance on Packaging machines in timely manner.
- Understand and able to use production computer program.
- Understand and able to follow Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP).
- Must have leadership and planning skills.
- Must be organize.
- Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
- Must have math and computer skills.
- Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs on a regular basis.
- Must be able to work and be around tree nuts and other food allergens.
- Must be Self-motivated, works well independently and excellent team player.
- Ability to be an independent thinker and make good decisions.
- Ability to work, focus and stay on tasks in a fast-paced environment on the packaging line throughout the shift.
Hours:
Day Shift: Monday - Thursday 6am-4:30pm
Night Shift: Monday - Thursday 4:30pm - 3am
