The Restaurant Manager is responsible for creating an extraordinary guest experience and a hospitable and accommodating atmosphere and will be responsible for training and coaching of all servers and bartenders.
The Restaurant Manager will be responsible for maintaining opening and closing procedures for the restaurant. The position will also be responsible for updating quality operating standards for all service positions and training each position.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES includes the following:
- Ensure all employees have a complete understanding of the menu served and food and wine service standards.
- Ensure the service team presents the menu consistently.
- Assist in controlling food costs, directly responsible for the control of beverage costs.
- Conduct monthly inventory on all beverage outlets.
- Complete monthly reports for Clubhouse Manager, GM, and CFO (Labor Analysis, Menu Engineering, and Sales).
- Conduct daily pre-shifts and making sure the team is informed about specials and any item(s) that may be unavailable.
- Train and supervise all hourly servers and banquet servers.
- Ensure each guest served is properly greeted within 60 seconds of arrival.
- Ensure that employees are always in proper uniform
- Report guest concerns and comments to Clubhouse Manager & General Manager
- Hire all new employees
- Ensure BEOs are updated and viewed by the staff each day.
- Open or close the clubhouse according to the standards set forth by the Clubhouse Manager & General Manager
- Provide feedback to the Clubhouse Manager & General Manager on guest satisfaction and employee satisfaction
- Ensure that employee feedback is directed appropriately to the management team and not to fellow employee
- Assist with banquet service and operations when needed
- Schedule staff to meet forecasted volume
- Substitute when needed for hourly employees
- Maintain controls of beverage cart service
- Create a neat, clean, and inspiring work environment for guests and staff members
- Complete daily tip reports for payroll
- Complete payroll according to accounting standards
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:
- Excellent communication skills
- In-depth knowledge of wine, spirit, and beer
- Ability to demonstrate excellence in guest service
- Experience in POS operations
- Basic computer skills and knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel
- Ability to be a team player
SECONDARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Participate in the bi-weekly staff meeting
- Assist the Clubhouse Manager as needed to provide a quality experience to guests
- Maintain clean menus, service items and oversee facility.
BUDGET:
- Responsible for achieving budgeted check average and budgeted sales per golfing guest
- Responsible for achieving budgeted labor costs to sales
