This role is within Chamberlain Group’s Finance function. A successful incumbent is expected to manage and direct (i) the Company’s annual financial planning process including all financial aspects of annual plans/budgets, monthly and quarterly forecasts through preparation, analysis and interpretation of detailed financial forecasts, (ii) the Company’s strategic & long range planning process inclusive of multi year plans, financial modeling of the Company’s product/services portfolio and related data analysis, (iii) the tools, processes, and governance of the Company’s business performance reporting and (iv) the Company’s exploration of tools for automation of financial processes & reporting, as well as use of new technologies to enhance financial reporting & analysis.
Direct the Company’s annual financial planning process including annual plans, strategic plan, monthly and quarterly forecasts as well as related analysis and interpretation of detailed financial forecasts.
Drive delivery of continuous improvements of financial planning, analysis and reporting activities across the organization focused on budget & forecasting processes in order to streamline processes, create operational efficiencies, and develop the highest quality analysis and insights.
Drive the development of and manage repeatable processes for developing & delivering the Company’s long range financial forecasts to ensure alignment with the Company’s strategic growth goals and priorities.
Manage the development of the Company’s business portfolio analysis and cost of services models to ensure the expected results will deliver the company’s growth goals and strategic priorities.
Oversee delivery of management reporting for the Executive Management team ensuring it provides full financial statements, comprehensive Key Performance Indicator (KPI) reporting, operational dashboard reporting, analysis of key business trends, actual versus budget variances and comprehensive executive level explanations of differences.
Provide management oversight of financial results analysis, commentary and presentation material for quarterly Board of Directors meetings, operations review, management meetings, and employee communication meetings.
Evaluate, enhance and execute the function’s roadmap for finance automation and introduction of new technologies for the purpose of providing real time financial information and meaningful insights used in business decision making.
Advance the accountability, attainment & insight of the Company’s business performance metrics through the curation and governance of Lucidity, the Company’s digital hub for key performance metric reporting.
Comply with health and safety guidelines and rules; managers should also ensure compliance across
their teams.
Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reading professional publications, establishing personal networks, and participating in professional societies.
Motivate and lead a high performance team by attracting, developing, engaging and retaining team members
Drive the performance management and compensation processes by communicating job expectations, monitoring and evaluating performance, providing feedback and facilitating employee development per the company’s policies
Maintain transparent communication by appropriately communicating organization information to team through department meetings, one-on-one meetings, appropriate email, IM and regular interpersonal communications
Lead and motivate individuals and teams to create a workplace culture that is consistent with the CGI mission, vision and values.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance required
10+ years experience as a financial leader; demonstrated work experience in finance/accounting roles with durable goods/consumer products/service-solution companies
Possess financial leadership capabilities, a broad business acumen, and ability to influence the thinking of others
Knowledge of financial and business systems, with demonstrated skills in financial analysis and business/financial modeling
Ability to think progressively, beyond the traditional methods of finance & accounting to delivery new capabilities and methods to the function.
Ability to travel up to 25% of the time internationally and domestically
Preferred Qualifications:
Master's of Business Administration
Experience with manufacturing companies; demonstrated success in a business that sells its products through multiple channels, specifically the retail channel of trade (major home centers, mass merchants, etc.), business to business channel of trade, including experience with an independent dealer-base channel of trade, as well as emerging digital channels of trade.
Technical expertise necessary to ensure that the company’s financial systems and analysis procedures provide management with accurate and timely financial performance measures and commentary; capable of looking beyond traditional finance and accounting functions to increase margins (growth, pricing, mix optimization, cost control) and assist with challenging operational decisions
