The Purpose of Your Role
The Behavioral Health Technician Lead supports and ensures that clients function safely, effectively, and efficiently while promoting the best quality and output standards. They collaborate with their team and shift manager to ensure the maintenance of treatment fidelity, company policy, procedures and client satisfaction are met according to OAC standards. The BHT Lead has all the same requirements and responsibilities of a BHT level I. In addition, they focus on their leadership skills through managing the BHT’s shift’s schedule, assisting with auditing, mentoring, and training. As well as being cross-trained as a front desk to help the front office department as needed. The BHT Lead models compliance, industry knowledge, and OAC policy and procedures.
Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
- Zero documentation errors on a weekly basis (overall team)
- 100% completion on BHT Clinical Quality Audits every quarter
- Schedule all BHT’s to meet required hours on the treatment floor (evidenced by scheduling outcomes)
- 4-6 hours per day of active facilitation, support and observation on treatment floor (evidenced by scheduling outcomes)
- Reduce early discharges by a minimum of 10% and ALOS of a minimum of 52 days by ensuring treatment satisfaction
- Live the OAC values by being an example of positivity, optimism, growth and change within your community of peers (as evidenced by staff evaluation audit).
- Master the BHT lead Competencies within 30-60 days (of hire)

Competencies
- Demonstrate all competencies of a BHT level 1
- Demonstrate understanding of any specific client and staff needs, prior to creating the BHT schedule, and update the schedule for missing or late clients
- Demonstrate effectiveness as an Incident Commander
- Demonstrate how to effectively Facilitate value cards
- Demonstrate how to pull an encounter and appointment report on In Sync for a particular BHT
- Demonstrate how to maintain and create patient groups on the EMR system
- Demonstrate understanding of proper closing procedures for the floor
- Demonstrates ability to maintain cleanliness, order, and organization of the floor and hold other BHT’s accountable for the same standards
- Demonstrates ability to effectively supervise daily floor programming by identifying systematic issues, and opportunities for improvement for other BHT’s
- Demonstrate ability to effectively communicate any opportunities of staff improvement to the BHT supervisor and help implement PIP’s
- Demonstrate ability to receive 100% on Quarterly audits for running exposures and be able to be an example to new BHT’s on how to facilitate group effectively
- Demonstrate ability to audit effectively and accurately to provide proper structure and feedback for staff improvement
Responsibilities:
- Able to work 8:00 am - 5:00 pm
- Implements and carries out changes as directed by the BHT Supervisor and Clinical Director
- Works closely with the BHT Supervisor to oversee programming and operations
- Creates shift schedules and coordinates scheduling changes
- Encourages team engagement and loyalty by effective employee interactions that promote cooperation, trust, and respect
- Assists in auditing, and facilitation of all groups
- Actively engages with clients through interaction, including assisting clients with developing skills and clinical interventions
- Provides high standards of helpful, professional and caring treatment to all clients by maintaining consistent effective client interaction
- Provides validation in a warm, safe environment and keeps clients motivated to work through distress and eliminates neutralizing behaviors
- Facilitates groups within the IOP and helps maintain a professional environment for clients, including collecting homework, clinical documentation and providing feedback to primary therapists
- Monitors the client’s daily activities, including implementing the treatment plan
- Plans, organizes and implements lesson plans for group setting
- Mentors and trains BHT’s in properly facilitation of groups and creation of lesson plans
- Maintains all written documentation such as progress notes, group therapy note4s, etc.
- Masters de-escalation techniques and crisis management
- Effectively manages business resources to maximize benefits for our clients, employees, and the organization and acts as a key holder for controlled use items
- Expands knowledge and skills through supervision and oversight provided by appropriate licensed clinical staff
- Maintains clients satisfaction by developing and practicing OAC’s values and associated behaviors
- Cross Trains in Front Desk and assists when needed
- Integrates OAC’s mission in all activities, interactions, and decision-making processes
- Adheres to all company policies and procedures
- Present self in a professional manner
- Maintains a safe and clean environment

The Skills and Expertise You Have:
- Some college or experience in a related field
- Ability to think critically
- Willingness to work as a team to meet the needs of the business
- 1 + years of experience in a leadership role
- Conflict resolution skills
- Proficient knowledge of computers, including google doc, sheets and other computer software
- Accurate and efficient electronic data entry
- Must be punctual and maintain excellent attendance
- Organized, detail-oriented, takes initiative, and completes job responsibilities independently
- Multitask, problem-solve, interpersonal skills, and strong written and verbal communication skills
- Thrives in a changing work environment including inside, outside, and a noise level
- Physical demands of the job will include sitting at desk or table for extended periods, bending, lifting, and walking
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in a related field
- OCD, anxiety, trauma experience
