The Regional Recruiting/Compliance Manager will report to the respective Regional Manager and oversee compliance on a local level and perform internal inspections for Melvindale, Sterling Heights, Jefferson and Buffalo. Other facilities may fall under the jurisdiction of the Area Compliance Manager at the discretion of the company.
Responsibilities:
Recruitment/Hiring
- Oversee Network Training and Recruitment
- Communicate ad placement with Human Resources Department
- Review resumes to choose qualified applicants.
- Set up interviews based on facility needs.
- Conduct Interviews
- Hire qualified candidates.
- Track and maintain all records of interviews.
- Communicate ad cancelations with the Human Resources Department once positions are filled or ads are no longer needed.
Talent LMS Training
- Communicate & Coordinate training schedules with Terminal Managers.
- Conduct Talents LMS orientation training
- Conduct all other Talent LMS training as it becomes available.
- Review & Maintain training records for all associates.
- Ensure training expirations dates are reviewed.
- Ensure Re-Training is conducted as needed.
- Maintain inventory and track maintenance on training tablets or any other equipment.
Onboarding Passport Training Loaders/Unloaders
- Once Talent LMS orientation training is completed assign trainees to a union qualified trainer.
- Review training and Passports daily with trainers and trainees to ensure daily signoffs and field any questions.
- Engage in the training process to ensure compliance is met during training.
- Make necessary adjustments to training schedules to accommodate for individual learning curve.
- Once Passport training is complete, make sure the trainer signs off on their official release at which point trainee becomes a probationary production associate.
Evaluation:
- Track all employees through the probationary period.
- 5 days prior to the end of every probationary period, employee must be evaluated and vetted by the following means:
· Personal Observations
· Area Compliance Auditor findings
· Terminal Manager evaluation
· Trainer suggestion
· Crew feedback
If a probationary employee is not ready to move out of the probationary period for whatever reason, one of the following decisions need to be made:
· Request a probation extension from the union.
· Serve the associate a failure to qualify notice.
Refresher Training:
· Conduct refresher training for any associate out longer than 90 days.
· Document refresher training
· Evaluate the associate to ensure they are fit for duty.
Attendance:
- Track all employees’ attendance through their probationary period.
- Failure to qualify Attendance Guide:
· Any combination of 3 absences, lates or leave earlies.
· 1 No call No show
AAR Quality Reviews:
- Perform a minimum of 1 unannounced internal AAR Quality Review audit at each facility weekly. Audits should be conducted on both day and night shifts.
- Frequency of audits increase for facilities that are due for an AAR Quality Review.
- Conduct a post audit review with the Terminal Manager and discuss all exceptions noted and suggestions for improvement.
- Compare with previous audits to validate consistency or spikes in behavior/tendencies.
- Send audit out to the network.
- Work with Area Training Manager to conduct Re-Training in areas needed.
Safety Audits:
- SAFE Observations (Fastfield app)
· Conduct a minimum of 15 observations per facility visit.
· Review previous facility submissions and review with Terminal Manager.
· Conduct a post audit review with the Terminal Manager and discuss all exceptions noted and suggestions for improvement.
- Yard Speed Audits (Fastfield app)
· Conduct a minimum of 30 Observations per visit.
· Review previous facility submissions and review with Terminal Manager.
· Conduct a post audit review with the Terminal Manager and discuss all exceptions noted and suggestions for improvement.
- Bay Parking Audits (Fastfield app)
· Conduct a minimum of 50 Observations per visit.
· Review previous facility submissions and review with Terminal Manager.
· Conduct a post audit review with the Terminal Manager and discuss all exceptions noted and suggestions for improvement.
- PPE Compliance (Inspect all Personnel on the Property)
· Helmets
- Are they company issued?
- Are they strapped?
· Boots
- Are boots over the ankle?
- Do boots have a defined heel?
- Are soles worn?
- Are boots properly tied as to protect the ankle?
· HI VIS/Uniform
- Is associate wearing visible HI VIS?
- Is Uniform free of tears?
- Is uniform soiled?
- Is uniform free of metal?
· Handwear
- Are gloves being worn as required?
- Are gloves soiled when driving?
- Do gloves have metal?
Fastfield Submission Audits:
- Pre-Operation Equipment Inspection (Fastfield app)

RAMP Inspections:
- Perform Weekly Ramp Inspections
· Inspect RAMPS using fastfield Pre-Operation Equipment Inspection
· Compare previous audit to determine progress/compliance.
· Ensure LOTO is applied to all scrap, inoperable or ramps under maintenance.
As an auditor you have the authority to Lock out / Tag out any piece of equipment that poses as safety hazard.
