Z Construction Inc. is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Accountant to join our team as an assistant to the Owner in a remote position. Job duties and Responsibilities:
- Provide behind-the-scenes support to the Owner while maintaining a high level of discretion, professionalism, judgment, and attention to detail.
- Prepare, review, and generate subcontract documents, including change orders, pay applications, retention documentation and statement of values.
- Process Client Monthly Draws that conform to the contract, reviewing for accuracy and conformity with contract specifications. Submit to project managers for approval and coordinate with the accounting office for bank funding and payment release.
- Generate and update internal pay applications
- Post and generate monthly job cost billing detail reports
- Invoicing customers and preparing customer statements.
- Perform cash applications in an accurate and timely manner.
- Manage collections on balances past due while maintaining positive customer relationships.
- Reconcile payment discrepancies on customer accounts.
- Additional duties as needed
Qualifications preferred for this Position:
- Minimum 2 years of project accounting/accounting experience.
- Experience in the Construction industry is a plus
- Experience using Sage 50 is a plus
- Advanced proficiency in Excel required
- Must be self-directed with a strong work ethic, capable of working independently as well as working effectively in a team environment.
- Must be organized, with strong analytical, time management and problem-solving skills and able to manage multiple priorities simultaneously and prioritize workload while working under pressure to meet deadlines.
- Ability to adapt to new assignments and deadlines in a fast-paced, highly demanding, deadline driven environment while utilizing excellent judgment and decision-making skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
