About the Opportunity
Reporting to the Global Product Manager, the Product Manager is responsible for developing an attractive product portfolio within chosen segments with a solid value proposition to create sustainable competitive advantages and differentiation for Ahlstrom with focus on profitability, sustainability, and growth.
The qualified incumbent will be accountable for the development and management of the product portfolio within Protective Materials, improving the sustainability of Ahlstrom’s products over time, pricing and value proposition, and driving the execution of all processes in the product lifecycle.
Essential Functions and Primary Responsibilities:
Must follow Ahlstrom’s manufacturing and hygiene processes, BRC procedures and policies, as applicable to the position’s areas of responsibility, in order to meet and maintain the safety, quality, and regulatory compliance requirements for each grade of paper.
Manage pricing for the product portfolio:
Manage price increase tracking and effectiveness and assess pricing power by category/geography.
Make product and pricing decision for new opportunities to support prompt turn around effectively utilizing the CRM system.
Identify and execute Value Propositions with priority customers through knowledge and application of business capabilities and resources.
Identify potential changes or enhancements to products to provide competitive advantage.
Identify attractive new product categories as well as expansion opportunities in existing categories.
Initiate new design based on existing grade.
Responsible for the business cases and technical specification towards R&D
Lead cross-plant activities to support product evaluation and qualification across global Ahlstrom manufacturing location.

Minimum Occupational Requirements:
Bachelor's Degree highly preferred but not required
Direct experience in paper manufacturing industry or converting industry
Technical knowledge in specialty paper
Strong experience in Product Manager role
Commercial mindset with experience developing and executing value propositions
Very structured with experience managing and leading cross-functional teams

Core Competencies: Ability to identify, prioritize and drive multiple initiatives.
Other Competencies Required: Strong communications skills (written, verbal and interpersonal)
