The System Administrator's duties include the installation and configuration of the disct network infrastructure, the maintenance and support of the information technology systems used by the Marshall Federal Courts. This position is defined as a responsible one, which implies the policy of following the communications communication servers, secure systems, and related devices for successful implementation of a business undertaking through meeting the organization's operational needs. The System Administrator especially considers IT teams, vendors and other stakeholders related while implementing and administering IT solutions that benefit the organization by having the organization achieve its goals.
Responsibilities:
- Measures SED responsiveness to requests for assistance.
- Measurement of Tickets in JIRA – with sampling.
- Resolution within 3 business days of request for assistance with tool(s).
- Measures the timeliness and quality of addressing document security activities as specified in the system security plan.
- Measurement/Inspection of Tickets in JIRA with sampling.
- Measures the timeliness and quality of SED risk analysis white papers and other formal deliverables for judicial publication.
- Measures the time from receipt of a traffic management request to approve/deny response.
- Measure time to resolve secure coding tool issues.
Experience:
- Bachelor degree in Science or Engineering Discipline; required years of experience can substitute for 4 years of degree.
- At least 7 years of experience is required.
- Provides analysis related to the design, development, and integration of hardware, software, man-machine interfaces and all system level requirements to provide an integrated IT solution.
- Develops integrated system test requirement, strategies, devices and systems.
- Directs overall system level testing. Solid understanding of Microsoft Windows systems administration.
Experience in a variety of tools and capabilities, such as those listed below:
- Knowledge with Puppet, Chef, or other configuration management tools.
- Experience with virtualization technologies such as VMware and HyperV .
- Knowledge with DNS and DHCP technologies • Experience with PowerShell
- Experience with system performance monitoring & fine-tuning.
- Knowledge with back up technologies.
- Proven technical experience and a solid foundation in operating systems.
- Strong work ethic and have a natural tendency to take ownership of incidents & requests Good team communication skills, with technical and non-technical colleagues
- Experience with Splunk or ELK
- Knowledge of Hadoop
- Experience working with SAN/NAS storage environments
- Knowledge of JIRA
- Experience in programming languages (C#, Perl, Python a plus) • ITIL certification or working knowledge.
