We are seeking a skilled and WABO Certified Welder to join our fabrication shop team. As a Fabrication Shop Welder, you will be responsible for performing welding and fabrication tasks to assemble, join, and repair metal components.
Responsibilities:
Welding Operations:
Perform various welding processes such as MIG, TIG, and stick welding.
Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and welding symbols to determine project specifications.
Ensure precision and accuracy in welding tasks, maintaining high-quality standards.
Material Preparation:
Prepare metal surfaces by cleaning, grinding, and beveling, ensuring proper joint penetration.
Cut, shape, and fit metal components according to project requirements.
Safety Compliance:
Adhere to safety protocols and procedures to create a secure working environment.
Utilize personal protective equipment (PPE) and ensure its proper use by all team members.
Quality Control:
Inspect completed welds to verify conformance to specifications and quality standards.
Address and rectify any defects or issues in the welding process.
Shop Maintenance:
Maintain cleanliness and orderliness in the fabrication shop.
Perform routine maintenance on tools and equipment.
Assist in the organization and inventory management of tools and supplies.
Collaboration:
Work closely with other team members, including fabricators and supervisors, to ensure efficient project completion.
Communicate effectively to coordinate tasks and address project requirements.
Demonstrate expertise in welding processes and techniques.
Technical Skills:
Proficient in various welding techniques, including MIG, TIG, and stick welding.
Ability to read and interpret blueprints and welding symbols.
Safety Awareness:
Strong commitment to safety practices and protocols.
Familiarity with OSHA guidelines and regulations.
Physical Fitness:
Ability to stand, bend, and lift heavy materials.
Endurance to perform physically demanding tasks in a fabrication shop setting.
Attention to Detail:
Keen eye for detail to ensure the accuracy and quality of welds.
Qualifications:
REQUIRED: Possess a valid Washington Association of Building Officials (WABO) Card.
High school diploma or equivalent.
Must be 18 years of age.
1 Year Previous experience in a steel fabrication or manufacturing environment is preferred.
Knowledge of basic fabrication tools and equipment.
Ability to lift heavy objects and perform physically demanding tasks.
Excellent teamwork and communication skills.
Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
Forklift operation certification is a plus.
Working Conditions:
This position involves working in a manufacturing environment where exposure to noise, dust, and various weather conditions may occur. The candidate should be comfortable working on their feet for extended periods and lifting heavy objects.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $20.00 - $27.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
