PROJECT SUPERINTENDENT
Summary/Objective: Our growing company is seeking to hire a Project Superintendent, the Project Superintendent position will be responsible for site supervision, construction communication, subcontractor scheduling, and successful project execution through close out.

Essential Functions:

- Oversee the construction of commercial buildings (ground up, renovation, etc.) and is responsible for project quality, safety, and on-schedule delivery.
- Partner with the Project Manager, this position is responsible for the overall success of the project, as well as identifying the subcontractors, and the delivery of equipment and materials.
- Schedule subcontractors to efficiently perform work.
- Create and update project schedules regularly and distribute to the project team.
- Ensure subcontractor compliance and strictly enforce jobsite safety standards in accordance with OSHA policies and protocols.
- Ensure site protection, continued cleanliness, and security.
- Review plans and contract documents for inaccuracies in detail or dimensions.
- Participate in design review meetings to offer constructability feedback during design development.
- Develop strong rapport with subcontractor management and their jobsite employees.
- Plan and conduct regular jobsite meetings with subcontractors to review progress and any changes.
- Maintain project documentation, including but not limited to, project reports, project photos, weekly progress reports, etc.
- Submit timely reports and photos for each project – weekly progress reports, photos, change order work, “as built” drawings, etc.
- Communicate regularly with team members to ensure a successful project.
Position Requirements
- General knowledge of all aspects of construction, including, but not limited to site work, concrete, masonry, steel erection, finishes, and MEP’s.
- Understanding of safety rules and regulations
- Knowledge of building codes
- Understanding of project accounting and subcontracting
Work Environment/Travel
The responsibilities of this position involve physical activities including standing, lifting (up to 50 pounds unassisted), bending, stooping, pushing, pulling and twisting. This position is required to travel to project sites, estimated 80% of the time.
Preferred Education and Experience
- B.S. degree in Construction Management, Engineering or advanced training in construction-related Project Management through accredited sources.
- 5+ years of experience managing commercial construction projects.
- Ability to use a computer or phone to submit reports and photos.
- Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills (verbal and written)
- Demonstrated abilities to manage complex projects working with subcontractors and owners while maintaining profitability on projects.
- Willingness to work varying shifts or irregular hours as necessary.
- Familiarity with architectural, MEP, furniture drawings, and knowledge of construction terms, materials, and methods.
- Able to adapt and prioritize, meeting deadlines, in a fast-paced team or independent environment.
- Must have valid driver’s license, no more than two moving violations or record of a DUI within the past 7 years.
