We are seeking an experienced Payroll Manager to oversee all aspects of payroll processing within our organization. The successful candidate will ensure accurate and timely payroll distribution, compliance with federal and state regulations, and maintenance of payroll records. The Payroll Manager will work closely with HR and Accounting departments to ensure smooth payroll operations and resolve any payroll-related issues.
Responsibilities:
Payroll Processing:
- Manage the preparation and processing of bi-weekly payroll for all employees.
- Ensure payroll is processed accurately, on time, and in compliance with all applicable laws and regulations.
Compliance and Reporting:
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll regulations.
- Prepare and submit required payroll reports and filings, including W-2s, 1099s, and other tax-related documents.
- Stay updated on changes in payroll laws and regulations and implement necessary updates to payroll practices.
Systems Management:
- Oversee the use and maintenance of payroll systems and software.
- Coordinate with IT and software vendors to resolve any system issues.
- Continuously evaluate and implement improvements to payroll systems and processes.
Employee Relations:
- Serve as the primary point of contact for employee payroll inquiries and issues.
- Educate employees on payroll policies and procedures.
- Address and resolve payroll discrepancies and errors.
Audit and Reconciliation:
- Conduct regular payroll audits to ensure accuracy and compliance.
- Reconcile payroll-related accounts and ensure discrepancies are resolved promptly.
- Assist in budget preparation and forecasting related to payroll expenses.
Team Management:
- Supervise payroll team and provide guidance and support.
- Conduct performance evaluations and provide training and development opportunities.
- Ensure that the payroll team operates efficiently and effectively.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Human Resources, or related field.
- CPP (Certified Payroll Professional) certification preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in payroll administration, with at least 2 years in a supervisory role.
- Strong knowledge of payroll laws and regulations.
- Proficiency in payroll software (e.g., ADP ) and MS Office Suite, especially Excel.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
