American Logistics is looking for a Data Engineer is responsible for managing Cloud based databases through multiple product lifecycle environments, from development to mission-critical production systems. This role will develop and maintain database ETL processes using various tools like SSIS, and AWS Glue. Additional duties include performance tuning queries and processes, through monitoring of system health and performance, to ensure high levels of availability. The Data Engineer will independently analyze, solve, and correct issues in real time, providing problem resolution end-to-end, refine and automate regular processes, track issues, and document changes. The Data Engineer will work with the team on new database development in AWS environment as part of our Digital Transformation initiative. Additional duties may include writing and updating reports written in various tools such as Tableau.
Data Engineer Duties:
- Create and maintain ETL processes using tools such as SSIS, AWS and Boomi.
- Creating AWS eventbridge, lambda, AWS Glue, Cloud watch and S3
- 24/7 support for critical production systems by rotating pager duties with team members.
- Create and modify database models using database modeling software.
- Assist developers with complex query tuning and schema refinement.
- Apply theory and put it into practice with an in-depth understanding of your field.
- Analyze problems/issues of diverse scope and determine the best possible solution.
- Creating report in Tableau
Data Engineer Requirements or Must Have Skills:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
- Expert level of knowledge/experience in database design for RDBMS and NoSQL databases.
- Experience with SQL Server and AWS database platforms, specifically Aurora PostgreSQL, Redshift, and DynamoDB.
- Real work experience creating AWS eventbridge, lambda, AWS Glue, Cloud watch and S3.
- Experience with medical claim data to create tableau report.
- Advanced knowledge/experience in database tools including AWS ETL tools.
- Experience transforming business needs into requirements.
- Confident, takes ownership, willingness to get the job done.
- Excellent verbal communications and cross group collaboration skills.
- Experienced in managing work with distributed teams.
- Experience in designing, building, and maintaining data warehouses and BI systems for Enterprise environment for reports and data analytics that can be used to facilitate decision making for internal clients.
- Experience with scripting languages such as PowerShell, C#, and Python.
- Familiar with GIT or other Source Control applications.
- Have comprehension of DevOps and Agile development and application to data centric architecture and solutions - Experience working in Agile environment and familiar with Scrum team process.
- Exposure to building and running CI/CD pipelines for different resources.
- Experience with gathering requirements for building new reports.
