Description:Major Job Responsibilities:
The Plant Manager is a pivotal role responsible for overseeing all operational activities of the manufacturing plant. This includes the management of production, quality assurance, maintenance, materials handling, and other related functions. The successful candidate will develop strategies to ensure the plant achieves all operational targets, including product quality, financial objectives, and delivery metrics.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Develop and execute comprehensive manufacturing budgets. Coordinate plant activities through detailed planning with departmental managers, ensuring manufacturing objectives are achieved efficiently and cost-effectively.
- Manage current key performance indicators (KPIs) for operational efficiency. Conduct regular performance appraisals, offering coaching and guidance to enhance employee productivity. Assess current KPI’s and modify to drive plant success.
- Provide dynamic day-to-day leadership to ensure the safe and effective operation of the facility. Foster an environment of continuous improvement by driving lean manufacturing initiatives, leading Kaizen events, and applying visual management techniques.
- Collaborate with the Accounting team to forecast production costs, implement changes, and manage budgets for optimal financial performance.
- Uphold a superior safety and housekeeping standard within the plant. Implement timely communication initiatives to maintain safety awareness.
- Work closely with engineering teams to integrate new product designs and employ best manufacturing practices for new product implementations.
Requirements:Required Skills/Abilities:
- Proven experience in plant management, including expertise in lean manufacturing principles such as 5-S, Six Sigma, and continuous improvement processes.
- Demonstrated ability in financial planning, cost management, and budget execution.
- Strong analytical, decision-making, and problem-solving skills.
- Exceptional interpersonal, communication, and listening skills.
- Proficiency in computer applications, including Microsoft Office Suite.
- Robust planning and organizational skills.
Education and/or Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, Management, Operations, or a related field required.
- At least ten years of progressive leadership and management experience in a manufacturing environment.
