Description
Business Analyst (BA) is responsible for conducting interviews with stakeholders and end users, creating workflows and process diagrams, wireframes, and other development aids. The Business Analyst is the primary author of Epics, user stories, acceptance criteria, and detailed system specifications for business and technical customers. The BA participates in Agile development processes, including managing requirements backlogs, facilitating Scrum ceremonies, and develops alternate strategies for implementation of user requirements. This position also develops requirements traceability matrices (RTM) and works with QA team to ensure test cases fully validate system functionality.
Requirements:
- US citizenship required.
- Ability to obtain Public Trust clearance required by contract.
- This position is remote but will require candidate to come onsite to McLean, VA for meetings.
Qualifications and experience:
- A Bachelor's of Science degree in Information Systems, Business Systems Management Information Systems, IT Management or other IT degree
- A minimum of five years' related work experience ; seven years' related experience may be substituted for degree
- Knowledge of business systems analysis and requirements elicitation
- Agile software development methodologies
- Test case development
- Creating requirements traceability matrices
Technical Skills:
- Proficient in Visio, Microsoft Office, especially Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
- Experienced using requirements management tools, Confluence, and SharePoint
- Experience with wireframing tools, such as Adobe Xd
Certification:
- CBAP certification desired, not required
Responsibilities:
- Manage the Product and Sprint backlogs
- Assist the Project Manager with facilitating Scrum ceremonies, including Estimation, Backlog Grooming, Sprint Planning, and Sprint Reviews and Demonstrations.
- Assist QA with validating that developed user stories meet the defined functionality and acceptance criteria
- Assist in User Acceptance Testing (UAT) and end user training, including development of documentation such as user manuals
- Familiar with Information Architecture standards and best practice
- Familiar with Unified Modeling Language (UML) and Business Process Modeling Notation (BPMN)
- Familiar with Behavior Driven Design (BDD) principles
