Pacifica Senior Living is seeking an experienced and passionate Cook to join our team at our beautiful senior living community!
As a Cook, you will play a pivotal role in creating a delightful culinary experience for our residents. Your culinary expertise, creativity, and dedication to quality will contribute to the overall satisfaction and well-being of our residents.
Responsibilities:
- Design and plan nutritious and well-balanced menus suitable for senior residents, considering their dietary needs and preferences.
- Prepare and cook meals according to recipes, ensuring high quality and presentation standards.
- Demonstrate a comprehensive understanding of various cooking techniques, ingredients, and flavors.
- Innovate and create new dishes to provide variety and excitement for our residents.
- Collaborate with dietary staff and healthcare professionals to ensure meals meet specific dietary restrictions, including low sodium, diabetic-friendly, and modified textures as required.
- Maintain strict adherence to food safety and sanitation guidelines. Ensure proper storage, handling, and preparation of food items. Monitor and record food temperatures regularly.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a cook in a similar culinary environment, preferably within a senior living community or healthcare setting.
- Excellent culinary skills with the ability to create and prepare high-quality meals.
- Knowledge of food safety regulations and ability to maintain a clean and organized kitchen.
- Experience in volume-batch cooking.
- Experience in using cutting tools, cookware, and bakeware.
- High School diploma or equivalent: A diploma from a culinary school will be an advantage.
